New microscope fills imaging gap between optical and electron microscope

According to the rdmag website reported in July 2007, an important new microscope fills the imaging gap between optical and electron microscopy. Optical microscopes are easy to operate, but their effective magnification is usually limited to 1000 times. Electron microscopy has a magnification of 100,000 times, but it is more difficult to operate. We usually refer to this new type of microscope as a desktop or bench electronic scanning microscope. This microscope provides 20,000 effective magnification and can be easily used as a typical laboratory-grade optical microscope.
The time developed by these new microscope devices is just right, filling the gap between performance between optical and electron microscopes. The new microscope has the ability to observe the size of objects between 5 nm and 100 nm, which is a key size range in the rapidly evolving field of nanotechnology. Microelectronics and microelectromechanical systems, synthetic materials and pharmaceuticals are among the few most notable technologies.
