The first nationally-produced 700,000-kilowatt hydro-generator unit of the Three Gorges Project, Unit 26, successfully achieved the goal of “First Stability for 100 Days†on October 17, which marked the successful implementation of the domestically largest hydropower unit with the largest single unit capacity in China. .
According to the report, Unit 26, located on the right bank of the Three Gorges, was independently designed and built by Harbin Electric Machinery Co., Ltd., and was the first national production unit with independent intellectual property rights in China. It was officially connected to the grid on July 10, with an accumulated power generation of 1.4 billion kWh. It was put into operation for 100 days. All technical indicators met the design requirements and the unit's output was smooth.
