The diesel III standard will be introduced during the year

Market and industry people calling for a long-time diesel III standard will be introduced within the year. This is the information disclosed at the fourth annual meeting of the National Petroleum Products and Lubricants Standardization Technical Committee (Petrochemical Standards Committee).

Experts at the meeting said that by the end of this year, the National III vehicle diesel standard will be introduced, which will allow refineries to set aside time for retrofitting and applying new technologies and new technologies to ensure the use of state III vehicles on December 31, 2009. The diesel standard was implemented simultaneously with the National III vehicle gasoline standard. At this meeting, the introduction of new diesel standards became the focus of attention of the National Standardization Management Committee, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

According to reports, this year's petrochemical standards committee will amend the CB252 light diesel national standards and GB/T19147 automotive diesel national standards. The two revised standards will classify China's diesel fuel standards into two mandatory national standards, namely automotive diesel and regular diesel.

Oil quality upgrade, standards first. Due to cost, technology and other reasons, the new diesel standard has not been introduced. However, the quality standards of oil products are closely related to vehicle exhaust emissions. With the increase of automobile ownership in China and the increase of public awareness of environmental protection, starting from the requirements for controlling automobile exhaust emissions, the pace of research and development of new gasoline and diesel standards should be accelerated.
