Mexico cancels anti-dumping duties on China's 749 products including textiles

China and Mexico signed an agreement in the Peruvian city AREQUIPA, deciding that Mexico will formally cancel anti-dumping duties on China's 749 products, accounting for 78.6% of Mexico’s current anti-dumping tax on China's total of 953 tariff lines. However, according to the Mexican Ministry of Economy, Mexico will continue to impose anti-dumping duties on 204 sensitive products in China in the next four years (as of December 11, 2011).
At present, Mexico imposes anti-dumping duties ranging from 2.58 to 1105% on China's 16 major categories of 953 tariff lines, mainly including clothing, toys, textiles, and footwear.
From November 2007 to April 2008, China has held four rounds of consultations with Mexico. The main industries involved are textiles, clothing, footwear, toys, bicycles, strollers, tools, household appliances, electromechanical products, and chemical products. Lighters, pencils, valves, locks, candles, etc. The above industries account for 9.5% of the total manufacturing value of Mexico's manufacturing industry and provide 1 million jobs.
The Mexican government will submit the above agreement to the Mexican senate for deliberation and approval.
