Other methods of treating cyanide-containing wastewater

I. Treatment of cyanide-containing wastewater by activated carbon adsorption catalytic oxidation is a new method studied in recent years. The cost of treating wastewater is low. While treating cyanide in wastewater, it can recover valuable metals such as gold , achieving comprehensive recovery and significant benefits, opening up a new way for converting from pure consumption to profitable sewage treatment. The treated wastewater has less impurities such as Cu, Pb, Zn and Cl, and the drainage outside the tailings dam can be recycled completely, achieving a good effect of “zero emission”. It can not only save the cost of fresh water, but also avoid the sewage discharge fee and solve the problem of water shortage.
Second, the pipeline aeration method is one of the good methods for the secondary treatment of cyanide-containing wastewater by acidification. It can also increase the recovery rate of NaCN and make the wastewater discharge to the standard.
Third, the natural purification method is a conventional method of discharging wastewater directly into the tailings dam without manual treatment. After natural purification, the wastewater is completely returned to the recycling. This method should be used with caution. The return of wastewater does not produce a vicious circle. It is required that the tailings dam can not leak, pollute the groundwater and surface water, and it is far away from the water source breeding area and the nature reserve. Although the method is simple in saving money, it is dangerous, and once it leaks and runs, the consequences are very serious. If there are no safety and protective measures, it should not be used.
A combined process of acidification, chlorination and natural purification. The first step is to recover cyanide by acidification and reduce the cost of wastewater treatment. The second step is to treat the remaining cyanide in the wastewater by chlorination method; finally, the natural purification of the tailings dam can achieve the good effect of high cyanide and low emission, and it is suitable for the place where the wastewater discharge index is strict. But the process is more complicated and the cost investment is higher.
