New technology can remove ginseng pesticide residues

Recently, Jilin Province Haotian Bioengineering Technology Co., Ltd. entrusted Jilin Agricultural University to complete the “Research on Production Process of Pesticide Residue Detoxification of Ginseng Extract” project. The expert group unanimously held that this achievement has reached the international advanced level.

With the increasingly stringent international market standards for ginseng pesticide residues, the issue of pesticide residues has become a major obstacle to the export of ginseng in China. The "Ginseng Extract Dephosphorization Residue Production Process Study" project uses ultraviolet light plus titanium dioxide catalysis, bio-enzymes, macroporous resins, etc., 28 organochlorine and pyrethroid pesticides and 17 organic phosphorus species in ginseng extracts. Pesticides were removed and the removal rates of the two pesticides reached 94% and 96%, respectively.
