The survey also found that 12 species of exotic attachment organisms have caused major damage in the main ports along the southern coast. Spartina alterniflora, one of the six introduced tidal flat plants, caused large-scale ecological intrusions in the mudflats of Zhejiang and Fujian.

In coastal zone geological disasters, coastal erosion and seawater intrusion are serious. China's mainland coast is heavily eroded. The total length of the erosion coastline is 3,250 kilometers, accounting for 17.1% of the total length of the coastline. About 50% of the country's sandy shores are eroded, and the erosion shoreline is 2,463 kilometers long. The area of ​​seawater intrusion in the coastal areas of China has exceeded 16,000 square kilometers.
