In order to prevent chemical pollution from having a significant impact on the environment, in response to its possible explosions, leaks, and high-intensity discharge events, Nanjing City this year launched the “Prevention and Emergency Demonstration of Environmental Pollution Accidents in Typical Yanjiang Chemical Area†project.
The city uses Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park as the application site, with overall guidance for improving its emergency treatment capacity for major pollution incidents, to form a major environmental pollution emergency response technology system with risk control as the core, and to establish risk management for major environmental pollution incidents. The total investment of this project is 61.07 million yuan, which is jointly led by Nanjing University of Technology, Nanjing University, Chinese Academy of Economics, Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Economics, and Jiangsu Meteorological Observatory. The topic has been listed in the national "863" major project in the "Eleventh Five-Year" period of resources and environment, and emergency and early-warning disposal technologies with multiple independent intellectual property rights will be formed.
