Reasons for Engine Oil Pressure Drop Caused by Insufficient Oil Pump Output

The normal oil working pressure of the diesel engine should be between 0.25-0.35 MPa, which can be higher when the new machine or machine temperature is low, and lower when the old machine or machine temperature is high. When the machine is in operation, if the oil pressure is less than 0.2MPa or flickering with the speed, even suddenly dropped to zero, indicating that there is a problem in the machine, you should turn off the engine immediately to find out the cause and rectify the problem before troubleshooting. Otherwise, it will lead to a big accident in the burning of the Vallar cylinders. Among them, the lack of oil pump oil output causes one of the reasons for the drop in oil pressure.

There are two kinds of oil pump: gear pump and rotor pump. In some gear pumps, the roughness of the joint between the pump cover and the pump body is very low, and the original design does not add gaskets. If a paper pad is added on itself during inspection, the end clearance of the gear is increased, which will reduce the pump output. The amount of oil. However, there is a gasket at the joint surface between the pump and the cylinder. If the gasket is leaked, the pressure oil from the oil pump will leak out, causing the oil pressure to drop. Some rotor pumps have a chamfer on one side of the outer rotor and no chamfer on the other side. If installed reversely, the oil output can be reduced by 40% to 60%. In addition, when the radial and end surface clearances of the gears or rotors are excessively large due to wear, the pump's oil output will decrease and the oil pressure will drop.

After the repair, the oil pump should be adjusted on the test bench to adjust the opening pressure of the pressure limiting valve to keep it between 0.5-0.7MPa. If the pressure is too high, the oil pump will be accelerated; if the pressure is too low, the main oil pressure will drop. When installing the oil pump, it should be filled with oil first, so as to avoid air in the pump and not suck oil. The connection between the oil pump and the suction pan must be sealed. If there is leakage, the oil pump will also reduce the oil output.

Check whether the oil pump suction network is blocked, the oil pump gear and casing end surface are worn, and the oil pump bypass valve is normal. If the oil pump bypass valve spring becomes soft, it will cause the oil to leak before entering the main oil passage. The oil pump is the source of lubrication for the entire engine. The performance of the oil pump directly affects the oil pressure.
