The warming up of the auto manufacturing industry at the beginning of this year has temporarily ended.
According to the latest statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in May this year, the auto manufacturing industry only realized a total profit of 1.82 billion yuan, a slight decrease from 1.83 billion yuan in the same period of last year. This is also the first year since the automobile manufacturing industry saw a year-on-year decline in profits.
Statistics show that in the first three months of this year, auto manufacturing profits increased by 145% year-on-year, a cumulative increase of 153% in the first four months. However, by the end of May, there has been a significant decline, with a cumulative growth rate of only 110.04%.
According to the information released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, a total of 557,600 vehicles were sold domestically in June, an increase of only 8.01% year-on-year, and a 1.78% decrease from May. This is the second consecutive monthly decline in vehicle sales since the beginning of this year.
According to industry analysts, since the car sales in June continued to decline month-on-month, coupled with the large price cuts of many mid-range cars during the month, it is expected that the auto manufacturing profits will continue to fall in June.
The data also shows that in the first five months of this year, the accumulative sales-to-sales rate of enterprises above designated size in the automotive industry was 97.13%, a year-on-year decrease of 0.81 percentage points, and a decrease of 0.13 percentage points from January to April. At the end of May, the net amount of accounts receivable of enterprises above designated size in the automotive industry was 165.222 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.20%, an increase of 0.93 percentage points from the end of April. The inventory of finished goods inventory of enterprises above designated size in the automotive industry was 75.324 billion yuan, an increase of 8.35% over the same period of last year, an increase of 0.62 percentage points over the end of April.
In the first half of this year, SAIC Motor Corporation continued to rank No. 1 in China with sales of 621,400 units. Sales of FAW, Dongfeng, Chang'an and BAIC were 562,900, 454,200, 369,100, and 337,100, respectively, and ranked second to fifth in that order. Chery, Hafei, Guangzhou Automobile, Geely and Brilliance ranked sixth to tenth in turn. The above-mentioned ten companies sold a total of 295.49 million cars, accounting for 83.59% of the total domestic car sales.
