According to Gao Yunhu, deputy director of the Department of Raw Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the overall level of development of China's new chemical materials industry is still far behind that of developed countries, domestic technological innovation capacity is weak, production and research are out of line, and the key new materials are guaranteed. R & D investment is seriously insufficient.
Zhou Zhuye, vice president of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, said that currently there is a high level of enthusiasm for the development of new chemical material industries. With a low level of overall technology, a large amount of investment has been invested in low-end products. Among them, the total amount of organic silicon monomers has reached more than 2 million tons, which is more than double the demand. At present, there are five or six companies that are under construction or planning to build, and the overcapacity is even more outstanding; the annual production capacity of polyoxymethylene units has reached 290,000 tons. At present, there are still a large number of projects under construction. If all of them are launched, the production capacity will increase by more than two times.
It is understood that the urgent need to develop high-end chemical and new materials industries such as engineering plastics, special rubber, high-performance fibers, and organic fluorine is an important foundation for supporting the development of strategic emerging industries such as energy-saving and environmental protection and new energy.
In this regard, Shi Jianping, deputy director of the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Planning Institute, said that during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†period, the new chemical materials industry should continue to strengthen technological innovation, gradually increase the domestic guarantee capacity and self-sufficiency rate, and accelerate research and development for special and special applications. Such as high-performance brands, reduce the dependence on imports; at the same time accelerate the promotion of industrialization, strengthen the application of research in order to form a competitive advantage.
