Recently, the Fujian Provincial Local Standard "General Technical Specification for Vehicle-mounted LED Display Screens" drafted by Xiamen Metropolitan Bureau of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Testing Institute and other units passed the approval of the expert group. It is reported that the " Code " is the first local recommended standard for this product, and it can provide technical support for the design, production, sales, and acceptance of on-board LED display screens.
The vehicle LED display is an LED display installed on sports carriers such as automobiles, trains and ships. It is a new green energy-saving product. Today, LED displays can display a variety of text, images, and animations, as well as unique features such as high brightness, full color, and easy content updates, which are increasingly appearing in public transport such as cars and boats. However, the LED display screens seen on vehicles have mostly directly used ordinary LED screens to bring hidden dangers to traffic safety. Quality supervisors said that because the standard system for such products is still not complete and the corresponding national or industry standards are lacking, the product development and production are in a disorderly state and the quality of products is uneven.
As one of the drafters of standards, Shi Yuan, Dean of Metrology Inspection and Testing Institute of Xiamen Bureau of Quality Supervision and Inspection, said that the performance of vehicle LED displays is larger than that of ordinary LED displays, and they pay more attention to safety performance. They have the following aspects in terms of flame retardancy and electromagnetic interference resistance: Clear and more stringent standards.
According to quality supervision personnel, LED display screens installed on mobile carriers must meet more stringent requirements in terms of flame retardancy, electromagnetic compatibility, brightness, and service life. The "Code" clearly states that vehicle LED displays should be able to protect against the dangers associated with electric shock, energy, fire, heat, and machinery. In particular, it must have a certain degree of flame retardancy to prevent spontaneous combustion due to a short circuit. At the same time, the standard also requires that the display screen should not be too bright or too dark, making people uncomfortable; the time for a trouble-free operation is not less than 5,000 hours, which is equivalent to more than one year.
