Cummins is committed to the sustainable development of post-processing systems

"100 kg of hydrocarbons, 600 kg of particulates, 36 tons of nitrogen oxides." This is the estimated 100,000 sets of post-treatment products that can be reduced once a year. On November 5th, 2013, Cummins Vice President Liu Xiaoxing, general manager of China and heavy-duty engine business in China produced the opening speech of the 100,000th emission treatment product produced by Cummins in China. He said that these data not only strengthened Cummins' determination to continue investing in post-processing technology, but also added a sense of mission and responsibility.

Founded in August 2007, Cummins Emissions Processing Systems (China) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CES China) will have production capacity of 180,000 units this year and a design capacity of 650,000 units per year. The post-processing system for the discharge standards of the major producing countries IV and 5 and above.

â–  China's post-processing market has broad prospects

According to Srikanth Padmanabhan, Vice President of Cummins Inc. and General Manager of Emissions Processing Business, CES China has experienced rapid development in recent years. From 2009 to 2012, CES China sold 40,000 reprocessing products in this year. From January to October, a total of 60,000 reprocessing products were sold. From January to October this year, the output was four times that of the same period last year. “The successful release of the 100,000th reprocessing product is of great significance to Cummins.” Srikanth Padmanabhan stated at the off-line ceremony, “Cummins has been committed to developing technologies to reduce the emission of harmful gases from the engine through the unremitting efforts of the Cummins R&D team. The engines equipped with Cummins reprocessing products can meet the world's most stringent exhaust emission regulations including Europe and the United States at the first time. We are very excited to create value for Chinese customers through our products."

Combining the current development situation, Srikanth Padmanabhan believes that in the future China's tail gas emission aftertreatment market will become the largest single market for Cummins emission treatment systems in the world.

â–  Strong technology is the basis for rapid development

Having advanced and reliable technology is the prerequisite for product promotion. As early as 2002, when Euro IV emission standards were introduced in Europe, Cummins became the first company to provide a post-treatment system that meets Euro IV emission standards. Srikanth Padmanabhan told reporters that Cummins has already stockpiled four generations of post-processing technology solutions to meet the emission regulations and use environments of different countries.

For product performance of Cummins' post-processing products, Srikanth Padmanabhan explains that Cummins pays great attention to the reliability and durability of post-processing products. "In the product design and production stage, we consider not only the use of the initial product performance, but also focus on long-term use." Srikanth Padmanabhan said that Cummins will improve product durability in response to the characteristics and needs of different markets, such as North America. Regional regulations require that the heavy-duty truck reprocessing unit needs to guarantee a life of 700,000 kilometers (435,000 miles), while in Brazil or Europe, although the standards are different, the life expectancy of Cummins' post-processing products is much higher than the regulatory standards.

With the implementation of the National IV emission standards, the role of electronic control systems in the control of engines and aftertreatment systems has been highlighted. Many vehicles need to control the engine and the exhaust system separately through two or more groups of control systems. Liu Xiaoxing told reporters that Cummins, as an independent engine and core component supplier, has a more mature solution for the control system. It can also manage the engine and post-processing system work through Cummins' engine control system. “We use a control system to effectively connect the engine and the post-processing system to achieve the best working condition between the two, and also to avoid the emergence of 'Fake Country IV'.”

In addition, Liu Xiaoxing told reporters that according to the promotion of the country's four emission standards, as a member of the automotive industry, Cummins is paying more attention to the development trend of the entire industry while doing its own work. For example, he said that in recent years, Cummins has continued to conduct a sampling analysis of the quality of China's oil products, and has previously been suffering from the quality of oil products criticized. From Cummins oil product analysis results over the past few years can be seen, the quality of domestic oil products are continuously improve. “The most important thing for the advancement of the national IV emission standards is enforcement, but I believe the outlook is good. Raising emission standards and promoting energy conservation and emission reduction are not only enterprises' needs to do, but also should attract the attention of all participants in the industry."

Balanced technology and cost are the future trends

Srikanth Padmanabhan said that the emerging markets for post-processing products such as China and Brazil are different from those in Europe and North America. Especially for China, the exhaust emission post-processing system needs to find a balance between technology and cost in the future. It is necessary to apply advanced technology, but also to make the product has a higher cost performance.

Srikanth Padmanabhan believes that the promotion of post-processing products in China requires more emphasis on the promotion and guidance of consumers. "Actually, after-treatment products can not only reduce emissions, but also improve the engine's working conditions and improve fuel economy." Srikanth Padmanabhan said that in addition to its own service network, Cummins will also cooperate with its Chinese partners Dongfeng and Foton. The promotion of product processing and service work continues, so that consumers really understand the importance of post-processing products. At the same time, Cummins is willing to contribute to China's energy-saving emission reduction and environmental pollution control.

Gasket

A gasket is made of paper, rubber or copper, placed between the two planes to strengthen the sealing material, to prevent fluid leakage between the sealing elements of the cover.

Gaskets are mechanical seals between two objects. They are usually used to prevent pressure and corrosion between two objects, and naturally expand and shrink in the pipeline. Because machined surfaces can not be perfect, the use of gaskets can fill the irregularity. Gaskets are usually made of sheet material, such as pads, rubber, silicone rubber, metal, cork, felt, chloroprene rubber, NBR, glass fiber or plastic polymers (such as polytetrafluoroethylene). Asbestos may contain asbestos for specific applied gaskets.

A gasket is a leak (usually in the middle) of a thin plate (usually in the middle), usually used for the distribution of load thread fasteners. Other uses are spacers, springs (Baer vill gaskets, wave gaskets), wear resistant pads, pre display devices, locking devices. Rubber gaskets are also used in faucets (valves) to cut off flowing liquids or gases. Rubber or silicon gaskets can also be used to reduce fan vibration. Usually the outer diameter of the gasket is about two times the diameter of the inner diameter.

Gaskets can be classified into non-metallic gaskets, metal gaskets and metal nonmetallic gaskets according to their material and structural characteristics, and they can be subdivided into several types.
Nonmetal gasket
Rubber gasket
Asbestos free fiber rubber gasket
Flexible graphite metal composite gasket
PTFE gasket
Polytetrafluoroethylene coated gasket
Other types of nonmetallic gaskets

Metal nonmetal composite gasket
Waveform gasket
Metal winding gasket
Metal toothed composite gasket
mjg
Metal wave tooth composite gasket
Other types of metal composite gaskets

Metal gasket:
Metal flat gasket
Corrugated metal gasket
Metal toothed gasket
Metal ring gasket
Metal lens gasket
Metal O ring pad

The metal annular gasket can be divided into
Octagonal ring pad
Oval ring pad
RX and BX self tight seal ring pad

The gasket washer pad between the connector and nut is usually a flat metal ring.
Non metallic gaskets non-metallic gasket are made of gaskets made of asbestos, rubber, synthetic resin, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc.
A non-metallic gasket non-metallic jacket gasket is coated with a non-metallic gasket, such as synthetic resin.
Semi metal gaskets semimetallic gasket gaskets made of metal and non-metallic materials, such as wound gaskets and metal gaskets. A spiral wound gasket spiral wound gasket consists of gaskets made of spiral belt wrapped by metal belt of V or W section.
1) inner ring inner ring is installed in the inner ring of the winding gasket metal ring.
2) outer ring outer ring is mounted on the metal ring of the outer ring of the wound gasket. B metal coating
Metal gaskets metallic gasket are gaskets made of steel, aluminum, copper, nickel or Monel alloy.
Winding gasket is a gasket with metal band (generally V type steel strip) and non-metallic belt twisted into ring. It is intertwined alternately with non-metallic belt. Because of its good elasticity, it is widely used in the flange seal structure of petrochemical, chemical, electric and other industries. The inner layer or outer layer of the gasket can be added to the steel ring according to the specific position. Position or strengthen.
