China's smart grid reform will invest 5.3 billion yuan in the second phase

At the Smart City (Dalian) Development Forum held on June 15th, Bai Xiaomin from the China Electric Power Research Institute stated that at present, the first-phase investment in China's smart grid reconstruction will reach 1.05 billion yuan, and the second phase will increase investment to 5.3 billion yuan. 5 to 10 demonstration cities and more than 50 demonstration parks.

Bai Xiaomin said that the construction of international smart grid is also an area that countries pay attention to. For example, the Obama administration in the United States clearly stated that “energy independence and national security”. The smart grid is the basis of smart cities and provides support for all aspects of smart cities. At the same time, smart grids ensure that the ecological environment of smart cities is not contaminated through new energy sources, thus achieving sustainable development.

He pointed out that the smart grid transformation should pay attention to two aspects. One is to solve the overall problem, the other is to explore new energy sources. One of the main functions of the smart grid is to adjust the past passive distribution network to an active distribution network. He said that it needs to be implemented by sensors and automatic devices. Bai Xiaomin added that the smart grid will effectively promote the intervention of new energy sources, greatly increase the efficiency of terminal energy utilization, and realize intelligent power management.
