On the 26th, Xinjiang Nonferrous Metals Group invested 300 million yuan to build 300,000 tons of phosphate fertilizer project to start foundation in Fukang City. After the project is put into production, it will fill the gap in the industry without phosphate fertilizer production line in Xinjiang, and change Xinjiang's long-term "multiple nitrogen, less phosphorus, "Potassium deficiency" fertilizer industry pattern.
Sun Baohui, general manager of Xinjiang Nonferrous Metals Wuxin Copper Industry Kangxinxin Phosphorus Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., stated that the total investment of 300,000 tons of diammonium phosphate project in the first phase of the project is 480 million yuan, which is mainly used by Xinjiang Wuxin Copper. Sulfuric acid, as well as phosphate rock from Guizhou and Hunan, and the nearby synthetic ammonia supplied by Hongji Coking, are used to produce high-concentration compound fertilizers. Xinjiang is rich in mineral resources, but lacks phosphorite resources. At present, the annual demand for phosphate fertilizer in Xinjiang reaches 800,000 to 1 million tons, mainly from Sichuan, Guizhou, and other inland provinces. Due to a long transportation distance, the price is higher than that in the mainland market.
According to the Xinjiang Nonferrous Metals Group, the first 300,000 tons of diammonium phosphate project will be completed and put into operation in 2012. The project will digest the sulfuric acid produced by Wuxin Copper in the copper and zinc smelting process and will not only extend the industry. The chain also realizes the efficient use of resources in the cycle. After the first phase of the project is put into operation, Xinjiang Nonferrous Metals Group will use the rich phosphorite resources of neighboring country Kazakhstan to expand the phosphorus chemical project into an annual production of 600,000 tons, changing the fertilizer industry situation of “multiple nitrogen, less phosphorus and potassium deficiency†in Xinjiang. Therefore, the self-sufficiency rate of phosphate fertilizer in Xinjiang has reached more than 50%.
